Scourge mines are even harder than human equivalents to detect due to their low-emittance hulls, passive stealth systems, and active evasion technologies. Even years after a system is ‘secured’, civilian ships are routinely lost to roving mines. In battle, these horrors are deployed in tight formations, increasing their effectiveness against the largest warships.
